There's a lot of accordion festivals in North America but this one is the kingpin.  And this is a fun festival too. Lots of accordions, lots of great players, and a huge crowd that's ready for action.  This is an accordion festival that you don't want to miss.

If you're going to go to an accordion festival and competition, this is the ultimate.  Occasionally there are some other festivals in Castelfidardo but they are nothing compared to the annual FIF festival.  This year the key dates are September 14th through 22nd, 2013.  You'll hear so much accordion at this festival that the sound of the instrument will enter into your dreams.  Many of the top players come to Castelfidardo and there's performances all over the place.  This is a wonderful time of year to come to Italy.  If you want some additional tips, see the blog Travel Tips to Italy.
